A UK online insurance company called Protect your Bubble is running an inovative viral video campaign highlighting unusual use of iPhones.

It is inspired by  the 1980′s jeans commercial of a man stripping off at a launderette. The short 1.24 minute video is hosted on a Protect your Bubble microsite: http://www.whathappenedtomyiphone.co.uk/laundrette/ and promoted on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Vimeo and a few other web channels.
Before the launderette viral, the previous video in the series of three short film clips featured a candle-lit bath and an ensuing exchange of picture messages for one young lady leading to ill-fated consequences, also at http://www.whathappenedtomyiphone.co.uk/.

View below the latest video just out.

Another video will be released in the coming weeks as part of this marketing campaign for Protect your Bubble.

If your business is selling to other businesses(B2B) then an interesting study shows that LinkedIn is the best Social Media site to generate B2B referrals.  This was shown in a study last year by Leadforce1 that showed LinkedIn created the most referrals to B2B sites with 17,618 leads.  Many of you may not have even heard of the #2 and #3 rankings with Reddit driving 11,968 and Dzone 8478 leads respectively. Twitter and Facebook came in a distant #4 and #5 with 6170 and 4465 B2B leads.  Followed by Stubleupon, Squidoo and Delicious (in order of ranking) in the survey with a total B2B lead generation of 5,328.

How to convert an illegal Facebook personal profile to a business page

Facebook logo

Image via Wikipedia

  • Are you breaking the rules of Facebook by using a personal profile as a business?
  • A personal profile is strictly for an individual not a group or business.
  • The risk is permanent deletion of all your friends and profile details.

A personal profile as the name suggests, must be used only by an individual person, not a group or business, otherwise it is a violation of Facebook’s Statement of Rights & Responsibilities.  You can tell the difference as a personal profile will attracts friends, rather than ‘likes.’

Facebook recently added the ability to convert a personal profile to a business page.  It’s still amazing the number of organisations that illegally use a personal profile for their group or business, hence they run the risk of having their page and all data permanently removed.

The good news is that Facebook now have a migration tool so you can convert your friends into fans, now known as ‘likes.’  Facebook has also produced an information page about this topic which is an interesting read.

If you convert your personal profile to a business page the important thing is that all your confirmed friends will be converted to people that ‘like’ your new page.  Your profile picture will also be migrated to your new page but all the other details such as photos and wall posts will not.  Therefore we suggest that you download your profile information before converting your profile as is detailed here.

Have fun and enjoy your new ‘likes’ without any excuse to be breaking the Facebook rules!

Also to boost your Facebook business page ‘likes’ then please refer to the post on how to create a good Facebook call to action.
